I used Minwax and stained the antler basket with the wool in it. It's the one with the very asymetrical, roundish flat body. It's got a large deer antler, the godseyes are made of round reed, the spokes are made of grape vine, the weavers are made of flat reed, seagrass cord and raw sheep fleee ringlets. Back in the summer, I made five antler handled baskets. I used ash straps for one of them. I didn't like the bright light colour, so I stained it with MinWax which I had on hand. It's a nice deep brown now ( Read more... )

I slept in today. It was almost 7:30 when I got up and took Willem on a tour of the two birding cameras. One took 18 pictures overnight of deer ridge meadow. I wonder if they were blackflies, or if it got deer or other wildlife! I am quite curious ( Read more... )
